LONDON – One of the world’s oldest and most iconic sporting rivalries is set to return to the River Thames. The Boat Race 2026
will see the elite rowing teams from the
University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge go head-to-head in a battle of grit, tradition, and athletic excellence.Since its inception in 1829, this event has become a global spectacle, drawing over 250,000 spectators to the banks of the Thames and millions of viewers worldwide from the US, Canada, and beyond.

The Course: The Championship Path
The race covers the famous 4.25-mile (6.8 km) stretch of the Thames in West London, known as the Championship Course. Starting at Putney Bridge and finishing at Mortlake, the rowers must navigate tricky currents and the infamous "S" bend at Hammersmith.
